Rocking the Head Scarf

Well now I truly feel, and look, like a cancer patient. That can make anyone depressed. I will continue to hold my head high, but it’s still a bummer at moment. First off, I live in the Florida Panhandle. It gets hot here in the summer, especially late July, August and September. Wearing a wig can be miserable. So I have decided that I am going to rock the head scarf and big earrings look.

Well, I have figured it out or at least have a starting point. That’s going to be part of my mission during / through all this …Beauty Through Breast Cancer. How we need to focus on the things that are beautiful about us and not just the fluff.

Beauty Tip #1 ~ Don’t wait until the hair goes away, on your head or face before you start figuring out how you are going to look.

The reason for this is if you wait, you will be depressed about loosing your hair and you won’t be able to feel beautiful. It’s like going to try on bath suits right at the brink of spring when you’ve been eating s’mores and hot chocolate around the campfires all last winter and expect your bikini body to have survived. It just isn’t going to happen.

Look closely, I still have my hair in this picture and a headband to keep the scarf in place. Found out after my hair came out, that I didn’t really need the headband. Check out my scarf tying tutorials.

Here is another picture of me. One of my favorites actually. This was on my 48th birthday. I had to go get my drivers license renewed and I wasn’t going to do it any other way; than in style.

With love, health and happiness,
